This perennial is statuesque to 10 feet and has bold foliage topped with yellow daisies. It makes a nice cover for bare areas. Blooms in mid summer and is pest resistant. A prairie plant it often grows near bodies of water or on the sunny edges of woodlands. It self-sows and transplanting small ones is easily done yet due to a complex root system it becomes more difficult with larger plants. An amusement for children as the leaves cup rain water against the stems in the leaf axils. Water pours out when plant is bent over. Our stock is originially from Missouri.
