Willowood' is a Woodlanders introduction. We found this Kalmia in Aiken County, SC. It is notable for its narrow willow-like leaves and pink, banded, flowers. A similar variety called 'Willowcrest' is from a northern source so 'Willowood' should be better for zones 8 and 9. It tends to be more compact and lower growing than typical for the species. Plant in well drained, acidic soil in sun or partial shade.
