Winterberry is a deciduous holly shrub with finely toothed but not spiny leaves. This native shrub grows in damp areas in Eastern North America and is available in a number of named varieties including others we offer. The female plants produce abundant fruits with a male pollenator present. The fruits persist through much of the winter and are very showy on the leafless branches. The berries are normally red but this variety has gold-colored fruits. Plant in good soil that is moist or can be irrigated. Best in full sun to partial shade.

All our plants are sold in 1-gallon sizes, though the height of each plant can vary depending on its growth rate and seasonality, typically ranging from 1/2 to 2.5 feet.
Each plant is carefully packaged with its roots enclosed in a secure plastic bag containing moist soil, forming a compact root ball. To ensure safe transport, the box is padded with recycled newspaper, providing both stability and eco-friendly protection from weather during shipping.
