Honeysuckle
Lonicera ‘Sulphurea’
| Hardiness Zones -
Bring luminous sunshine to your garden with Lonicera ‘Sulphurea’, a rare golden-flowered form of the beloved native trumpet honeysuckle. Unlike the common red-blooming varieties, this selection bursts into cascades of soft, buttery-yellow tubular flowers that glow against its rich green foliage from late spring through summer. The nectar-rich blooms are irresistible to hummingbirds, butterflies, and native pollinators, making it both an ornamental showpiece and a wildlife magnet.
A deciduous twining vine, ‘Sulphurea’ grows vigorously to 8–12 feet tall with a graceful spread of 3–6 feet, perfect for training onto trellises, fences, and arbors. Hardy in USDA Zones 4–9, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soils, provided they are well-drained. Once established, this honeysuckle is low-maintenance, drought-resistant, and long-lived, making it an easy choice for both cottage gardens and modern landscapes.
