We have a small Callicarpa collection beyond the beautiful, native beautyberry. The white-fruited form, Callicarpa dichotoma 'Albifructus', sets translucent pearl-white berries against finer-textured foliage. Callicarpa acuminata, the Mexican beautyberry, ripens to dark purple-black rather than magenta, with a quieter, more mysterious presence in the autumn garden. All uncommon in the U.S. trade and only restocked every few seasons.
