About the Megan's Collection Collection
This collection belongs to Megan, the assistant manager at Woodlanders, and it gathers the Southeastern natives she loves most. Her feeling for plants was rooted in the sprawling piedmont and quiet mountains of North Carolina, where the stillness of the woods and fields was, for her, the best thing in the world. She did not expect to find that same stillness indoors, but walking the greenhouses at Woodlanders, among the steady presence of the region's native plants, she felt it again: a quiet sense of being home.
The plants Megan reaches for are the proud natives of her home ground and the wider South, chosen for character and story as much as for looks. Longleaf pine and post oak stand for the piedmont she grew up in; the Tennessee coneflower and Darrow's blueberry for the uncommon Southern species she has come to treasure. Each carries a history, and Megan hopes the telling of those stories brings others the same quiet joy the plants have given her.
